  • Migrated existing Oracle-to-Teradata load scripts from a non-ETL framework into AT&T's approved ETL platform. The approved ETL platform is a combination of proprietary UNIX-based ETL wrappers which utilize Informatica Powercenter 7.1 as the preferred means of integration and transformation between databases. Wrote Informatica mappings and workflows to move data from Oracle to Teradata.

  • Part of development team tasked with adding enhancements to the Sales Edit application for processing incoming bottler data. The Sales Edit processes daily incoming bottler flat-files after first verifying file layout. Data is then collected into staging tables via MultiLoad. From there invoice headers and lines move separately via BTEQ through various edit and suspense steps after assigning synthetic keys. Invoices ultimately get loaded into corporate tables for reporting and analysis.
  • Implemented a multi-step BTEQ solution for taking Food Service specific data from the Sales Edit application and processing rows through various edit and suspense steps. The final step produced flat files to client specifications for loading into multiple external systems.

  • Developed ETL (Extract, Transformation, Load) processes on both Teradata and Oracle using korn shell scripting and RDBMS utilities such as MultiLoad, FastLoad, FastExport, BTEQ (Teradata) and SQL*Plus, SQL*Loader (Oracle).
  • Modified or enhanced existing ETL processes to include additional client business requirements.
  • Designed, developed, and deployed a unique custom application for a client that leveraged the speed and power of Teradata MultiLoad & BTEQ on UNIX with the accessibility and user-friendliness of a Microsoft Access GUI. Client can now control loading millions of rows of data to a Teradata warehouse using an MS Access front-end. A formally error-prone ODBC process that once took dozens of hours is now reduced to mere minutes with accurate results.
  • Created many complex financial reporting solutions for clients using Brio Designer.
  • Designed, built, and maintained many inter-departmental databases and applications. Selected applications include a project management database, project estimate database, and a resource planning application. Maintained and enhanced a contractor time tracking solution.

  • Partnered with our BellSouth marketing clientele in the formulation of specific business questions. Once the business question has been determined the task is then to translate that request into SQL . Using tools such as Brio and NCR’s Queryman the data is then extracted from the various data marts and the results tailored to meet the client’s individual needs.
  • Additional responsibilities included building ad hoc databases to expedite the client’s analytic process. My goal throughout is to provide as much additional analytic value as possible while balancing opposing forces of delivery due date, data complexity, and the technical skills of the client.

  • Developed sophisticated budget models in Excel capable of running dynamic "what-if" scenarios for budget planning. Tracked and reported subsequent budget vs. actual variances. Monthly analyses required obtaining knowledge in broadband technologies including cable, telephony and high-speed data as well as proper construction practices and procedures emphasizing its impact on financial reporting. 
  • Monthly responsibilities included exporting and manipulating project costing data from the general ledger to Excel and Access for analysis and reporting to management. Also responsible for development and implementation of regional construction and departmental capital budgets.  
  • PeopleSoft ERP system implementation team member. Data migration responsibilities included development of a database for mapping capital expenditure transaction history from Lawson Financials to a format suitable for upload into PeopleSoft. Also responsible for training PeopleSoft users in process-change, end-user navigation and query design. PeopleSoft Project Costing module super-user. 
  • Successfully designed and deployed a budget tracking database for use in control of construction costs related to regional broadband plant upgrade. Application gained widespread use within the region. 
  • Successfully designed many other user-friendly Access databases for use in FP&A as well as other departments. End-users were consulted during all stages of the development process to determine application requirements.

SAS-70 audits test the overall effectiveness of an IT department's policies and procedures related to information systems security. Weakness in this area suggests an increase in audit risk, and hence an increase in level of testing required on the corporation's financial statements.
  • Member of audit teams tasked with testing corporate financial statements for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP). Participated in testing of controls and substantive tests of transactions related to accounting cycles. Performed statistical analysis of financial statements comparing resulting ratios with industry benchmarks to determine level of testing required.
